Six Years Now (Work to Do)

Six years ago you stole my heart,
three years later you tore it apart.
We must of been cursed right from the start.

People come and people go,
most of them now don't even know.
They raise an eyebrow
when I mention your name,
they don't remember when
you and I were the same.

Six years ago you stole my heart,
three years later you tore it apart.
We must of been cursed right from the start.

It's been so long now
I can barely see your face
and every new day
I try to pick up the pace.
Start all over and find someone new,
but this circle just keeps leading back to you.

Six years ago you stole my heart,
three years later you tore it apart.
We must of been cursed right from the start.

Now I find comfort in my bourbon,
it isn't hard to find,
rain drops fall on aching wounds,
they've become seasoned over time.
Memories and scars attributed to
that long lost love of mine.

Six years ago you stole my heart,
three years later you tore it apart.
We were surely cursed right from the start.
